An IOWater survey on agricultural phosphorus and its regulation in 4 European countries

The "phosphorus" issue is an essential issue from an environmental point of view (eutrophication) but also a strategic one (phosphorus is a limited but essential resource in agriculture).

After having studied in 2017 the regulations concerning the management of agricultural phosphorus in France, IOWater published the results of a study on these regulations in various European countries.

IOWater carried out an in-depth survey on agricultural phosphorus and regulations in 4 European countries (Germany, Netherlands, Denmark and Italy). For each country, the proposed sharing of experience is based on a bibliographic study supplemented by interviews with various experts in the field.

These exchanges of experience are accompanied by a comparative analysis to better understand the main issues related to the regulation of agricultural phosphorus.
